I thought a portrait in pencil would be the perfect medium for Eli. He looks fierce. Yet, there is a softness that comes when working with graphite. That’s what our Eli was all about. With us, he was fierce, strong willed, confident. Around others, he was very cautious and shy. I think he would be pleased with this portrayal of him.
