This is not your grandmother’s chair. Okay, maybe it was your grandmother’s chair, but not anymore. This gem of a colour is one of my favourite shades of turquoise. Benjamin Moore Tropicana Cabana, 2048-50. I paint a lot of furniture, and in future will post before pics. This lovely little chair, gifted to me by a dear friend, was originally finished with a mahogany stain. After a light sanding, I primed it with Circa 1850 Prime-it Plus, and then brushed on two coats of BM Aura semi-gloss. All latex paint, so better for you and the environment. Lovely, glossy, cheery. In most lighting, the chair’s colour appears as a true turquoise, see small photo. I reupholstered the back of the chair and sewed up a matching fitted cushion for the seat. All that…for the cat.
