My American Cousin is a Canadian drama film set in rural Penticton BC.  Filmed on location in Penticton in 1985, it won six Genie awards {Canada’s equivalent to the Oscars}.  It seemed fitting to wear red, white and blue while visiting the city this weekend.  The weather was beautiful; warm, mostly clear skies and very little wind.  Penticton and it’s neighbouring communities of Naramata and Summerland are situated in the Okanagan Valley, a region in south central BC.  The southern Okanagan has a sunny, dry climate and the abundance of orchards in the area is a picturesque reminder that this is agricultural country.  The focus has increasingly shifted towards grape growing and wine production, and there are wineries offering tastings around every corner.  A very lovely weekend indeed!

WOWEEE!!!! This is so wonderful. You sneaky peat, now I know what you have been up to on the weekend. Said moi, quickly adding it to her favourites. Well done, my friend, so well done.

Aw, thank you so much Shirl! Now I have two people reading my blog, LOL. It wasn't so much being intentionally sneaky. More like I was afraid that I might not be able to do it. 🙂

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I see you discovered how to leave a comment. I envy you your trip to Penticton. I haven't been there for several years. Love to go explore all the little farmgate vineyards in the Naramata area. You have some phenomenal accessories!

Now how did you guess that Mr CC and I spent most of our time exploring vineyards in Naramata, LOL. Summerland also has some great wineries now too so I recommend you make the journey over sometime. Great inspiration for artists!
