A Tree Grows in Langley…
In our little household, choosing The Christmas Tree is a big deal cherished tradition. We traipse half way across the lower mainland to Giesbrecht’s Christmas Tree Farm in Langley where the mister will patiently hoist several trees out of their cradles and into the aisles to be assessed by my discerning eye. As the years go by, we’ve come to understand that there are a few parameters that must not be compromised. The size of the tree trunk cannot be larger than our tree stand. Oh, that sounds so obvious, but you might be surprised to know we can get caught up in the excitement of the whole selection process. Also, the tree cannot be taller than 7′ because the mister is unwilling to cut a hole in the ceiling to accommodate the heirloom angel that I bought on sale at Michael’s last year. Having these restrictions in place doesn’t mean that I can’t dream though. I think the above tree is perfection.
We have a large number of heavy ornaments and the tree below would be perfect with it’s stiff branches pointing upwards.
Alas, I am reminded again of the height restriction. At $95.00, it would be a shame to only use the top half of the tree.
We always allow time for an impromptu photo shoot, {not}.
This year the mister was the final decision maker. It turns out he likes short and plump, in both Christmas trees and wives wife. This might be the first tree where I do not require a step ladder to adorn the top of the tree, but it’s all good. I think this tree is adorable, and when I’m done having my way with it, you will ooh and ah with delight. It’s probably of no surprise to you that The Christmas Tree is one of my favourite canvasses for colourful adornment at this time of year.
Okay, that’s all for now. We’re off and heading to Starbucks for coffee.

Thanks Angie! You know I was going to share an outfit photo, but I reconsidered. I almost felt a little too lumberjacky, LOL. We weren't cutting the tree down, so it was maybe a little too much. Thanks for noticing! 🙂

Oh absolutely Cindy. I express gratitude almost daily to my tree. It's funny when the tree initially goes into the living room, I'm always hesitant to add decorations. It looks so peaceful and pretty…but once I get started, everything goes on…

Our X-Mas tree is done, but god i didn't know they were so expensive, i don't go with the Mister when buying the tree, he comes back with the tree! We have 10'ceiling so we have a big tree – The grandkids helped with the decorations, they did a great job we all had supper together afterwards –
Looks like you had a nice vacation – we might go somewhere warm in Feb!
