Hello my friends!  I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  In my part of the world, we just turned the clocks one hour ahead for daylight savings time.  Spring Ahead. Figuratively, this phrase is all warm and fuzzy. I mean, who wouldn’t be keen to spring ahead?  It sounds all well and good, but the reality is an hour less sleep the next morning.  I swear, it takes me a week to adjust to this single hour time change.  Am I the only one?  I did have lots of outdoor enjoyment this weekend, and so I am hoping that the fresh air and sunshine will help me adjust.

Okay, now about this flirty little outfit.  I have been getting me some real goodies in the thrift stores lately, and the pieces in this outfit are a few of my more recent finds.  I should have snapped a before photo of the skirt.  It was down around my calves, but I could envision it fun and flippy and above the knee.  I promise you, I did a very good job with the hemming…it looks wonky in a few of these pictures, but it was either the camera angle, or more likely me standing funny.  I love mixing patterns, and today I’ve married plaid and plaid. Whoa, I’m such a risk taker!  I really love how the salmon-y sweater brightens everything up.  Yup, I think all these pieces play very nicely together.  The purse was in my kinda, maybe, should go to Goodwill pile, but I think I will hang on to it a while longer.   And, I gotta tell ya,  I’m a little in love with my new wall.  It’s so vibrant and colourful, and as long as there aren’t any parked cars in my studio space, I will be snap happy here for many outfits to come.  Two vehicles pulled in when we were taking pics, and I still feel awkward about these encounters.  Like, “Hi, yes I’m a goofball and yes my mister is taking my photos.  Um, can you move your car please?”

Thank you so much for positive comments and emails on my most recent DIY, posted here.  I hope to see some photos of your own polka dot jeans!  And I do promise, there will be some outfit posts of me wearing my polka dot creations too.

Also, a big thank you to my newest followers, email subscribers, and bloglovin’ readers.  I am so happy to have you along for the ride.

That's the perfect back drop!! The orange pops against it and you look adorable in your paid skirt. The star earrings are the perfect accent.

Sue I love our spirit!!! I find your outfit so much fun, but what I love the most is that tartan skirt. I can't get enough of tartan myself, I am glad this print started becoming wearable not only for cold weather seasons, now we are seeing it in spring and summer as well.

I would also make great jumps when I found such a pretty checkered skirt in the thrift story. You mixed the patterns and the colors perfectly. It looks for me like a favorite spring dress.
We get the clock changing only end of this month, it will also take me some time to get up in time in the moring. Spring here takes a break, unfortunately.
    Have a good time!

I can't see any wonky-ness in the hem. And I LOVE the pattern and color combinations in this outfit… especially, I love the skirt. Perfect for the end of winter, perfect for playful flirtiness (like you say). And Bravo for getting past the awkwardness of photo shoots with random onlookers. You have a lovely smile. I especially like your airborne shots… so fun. (= Lynaea @ EverydayBloom.com

Sue! How cute is this outfit! I think I may need to steal those ankle boots. 🙂 I'm a new seamstress and my hems always get a bit wonky. ;/ Gotta keep practicing!

hi Sue! I was hoping others would like the little girl in yellow. When I do those pics from Pinterest type posts, I always need to include a child in them for some reason. I think it's the grandmother feelings coming out in me. hahahaha.
