Happy Monday my friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.   This past week was a blissfully sunny affair.  Yesterday, however, Mother Nature decided that my little part of the world required a thorough watering.  The good news?  Rain = Green.  Green grass, green trees, green gardens.   Speaking of gardens, I spent a pleasurable hour or so in a favourite garden center today.   I managed to resist temptation and leave empty-handed,  well, empty handed with the exception of a hanging basket for my Mom.  I don’t expect I’ll be so lucky next time.  I admit, I get a bit giddy in nurseries.  I suspect the riotous display of colour has something to do with it.

Today’s outfit, although not quite riotous, {and I promise you, my The Day I Dressed Like a Hanging Basket outfit will be coming} is both colourful and nautically inspired.  After all, I spent much of my free time this week lolling by the sea, soaking up that sun and the gloriously warm temperatures.  Please don’t be jelly though.  It’s still raining and likely to continue to rain for days.  My photos unintentionally went from easy to breezy as we walked to the end of the spit.  It’s all good though, it’s a casual look with a playful mix of polka dots, stripes, and gingham.  My very comfy red espradrilles from Aldo are back in rotation, and my multi coloured dotted denim jeans are fast becoming favourites.  I used the same technique for these jeans as outlined in my DIY: Polka Dot Jeans post.  I used a 1/4″ dabber and four colours; red, blue, yellow, and green.   I bought the charm on my necklace, a sand dollar, at a bead store in Victoria.  All I did was add a jump ring and slip it onto a chain.  And in case you’re curious, it is light as a feather.

The pants turned out great, you did a really nice job on them. Terrific way to upcycle an inexpensive pair of pants, or a pair you have and are tired of! You definitely look ready for spring.

Your upcycling talents are radiantly on display. As radiant, playful and joyful as your photos. Artful pattern mixing and love your hair in the wind. Always a pleasure to stop by A Colourful Canvas.

Not being jelly that's easier to say than to be. Looking at you with your hair in the warm wind coming from the sea makes me sigh deeply. But another issue: You look gorgeous in your spotted jeans and your checkered blouse. Wonderful that the bag also has a spotted part!
When your forecast comes true we will see nothing but green the next days, we had rain enough.

As always the setting, the photography, the outfit and the model, particularly the model, are lovely. Looking forward to seeing your hanging basket outfit.

Sue, I was greatly inspired by your first DIY polka dot jeans but these are just too fun to resist. I'm now hunting in my closet for some old white pants, (its ok to copy, right?) Just love how you paired them with orange/red and the checkered shirt.
    I. too, get giddy in a nursery, it must be the love of colors we have. When I plant my flower beds, I use to tell my son that I was painting the ground. As always, thank you for bringing a smile and brightness to my day.

Excellent work on the polka dot jeans, Sue. You look so fun in the pictures, and now we all want that sand dollar necklace! ………..Very cute outfit!

… rain means green grass, but what a pity if it happens during the week end!
Despite the rain you are smiling as ever…and what a nice idea you have had to add dots to your jeans!

You did such a good job on those pants – the dots are so even! They're very cute. Love those sunglasses!

I'm not jelly here – we've had the best spring ever! The temperatures have been like summer until last night. Now we have a little rain and only slightly cooler temps. It's gorgeous!

Rain = green. Yes. I always say, “When it's raining in Vancouver, don't look up. Look down. You'll feel just fine if you do.” There's so much growing here, all year round. I love it.

I'm going on an orange frenzy these days too. I'm not a ginger but my hair is auburn and the orange picks up the red. It's such a happy colour.
