RAINY DAY BRIGHTS

A Colourful Canvas
A Colourful Canvas,

These days be rainy days on the west coast.  The ideal weather for red rain boots and a colourful brolly.  And also the perfect weather for whiling away a few hours at the movies…We saw The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug this afternoon.  It was entertaining, a little gory, and a lot unrealistic {Hey, it is a fantasy after all}.  We, the mister and I, enjoyed ourselves.

My outfit is all about colour, and pattern, and fun.  Red rain boots to keep my feet dry.  A colourful umbrella to keep my curls protected.  And lots of colour to brighten up a bleak January day.  I’ve done a little pattern mixing…stripes over gingham with a paisley scarf at my neck.  My nail polish, Zoya Louise in chocolately brown, and my dark wash skinnies provide just the right amount of grounding.

This outfit makes me think that spring is just around the corner! Your smile and bright colors banish the clouds. Of course, with cool red rubber boots you probably want it to keep raining.

    Lookin' good, Sue!

Seeing your lovely, happy face this morning has really made me smile. The best thing for a dreary day is to definitely brighten it up with some colour and you have certainly done that. You look great! I want your brolly!! 🙂

  • Reply Carley Lee January 12, 2014 at 10:42 pm

As always, Sue, you have a way of brightening up even the most dreary days! I can't believe how much it's been raining, but I've been inspired by your colourful outlook 🙂
We enjoyed the latest installment of the Hobbit, although I thought some added story lines left a bit to be desired. In the end, and extremely enjoyable film, though 🙂
Keep dry & warm, my friend!

You are a vision. There is so much grey these days, weather-wise and style-wise, that people must gravitate to you naturally when you go out in public. You look like springtime. Absolutely gorgeous.

What a great idea…to fight the rainy weather by wearing a fun and colorful outfit. You nailed it Sue! Often times, for rainy cloudy days, I have the tendency to wear dark colors. I like your style better 🙂

Sue, this look is so exciting and certainly makes a rainy day much better, this is what I try and do when it rains. I am always on the lookout for a decorative umbrella and yours fits the description perfectly. I love your green coat (I’ve been looking for a green coat too). The detailing such as the bracelet and the belt are lovely little finishes.

Wanted to reply to your comment Dear Sue!
I can assure you there are no swings at bus stops!
There was a swing installation near Place des Spectacles this summer – Place des Spectacles is where the Jazz Festival is –
And little advice, when you see something that you are unsure in thrift shops, it means, well in my book that you should grab it and make your up mind while you have in your hand or have a stroll in the shop with the item in hand while you make up your mind- this is what i do , cause great pieces like that will be snap in a minute!
