You look like a tall drink of water! Huzzah for monochrome and expert sewing skills! How is it that you make all your handmade pieces look so clean and sharp and manufactured? And how funny is it that what used to be a derogatory term – “Manufactured? All my clothing is bespoke, dahling!” – has now become the expected standard for quality.

Wow this is such a different look for you. I need to let my eyes adjust ; ) So calm and tranquil and dare I say it…normally NOT Sue. Glad that funky hat is there otherwise I might not recognize you.

I love how you describe yourself. Those inflatable air dancers always freak me out. Someone needs to make a horror movie out of them. But they need to change the name from “air dancers” to “air stalkers”. Then at the end…just when someone is about to get killed…the last victim figures it out and shuts off the air and the air stalker crumples to the ground, looking like some sorry heap of old plastic garbage bags.

Okay my eyes have adjusted to the non colour and non vibrancy of this retro design. I adore the top. It reminds me of a retro peplum. The little details are gorgeous and I can where they might get lost if it were a patterned fabric. I can really see the top paired with a piece a little more form fitting on the bottom, a pencil skirt, fitted jeans, or skinnies and ballet flats. Really reminds me of something Audrey Hepburn might have worn.

The pants…they are Katherine Hepburn all the way. While I don't mind them at all I kind of wish they were in a very light flowy fabric, like silk or ummm….name another fabric that is light and flowy ; ) as a non sewer I don't know these kind of things.

The entire ensemble really does create a decisive look though and I'm sure you created quite a stir on the beach when taking the photos. I would have to agree that it is a success and I can't wait to see your next pair of patterned palazzo pants. I'm envisioning flowers and colour… : )

Love all of it … that's the way to wear wide leg pants! When they fit perfectly! You look reed slim and so tiny. Brilliant blouse, cute hat and bangles and toes! But I love the wedges … are those the ones?

Ah, my polka dot toes are really quite easy to do, and they add such a fun element of playfulness!

Thanks Flo! I always love having some really inexpensive, but well liked, fabric in my stash for just these occasions. I can experiment and if it doesn't work, then no biggie, but if it does, BONUS!

Hi Crystal, Oh, it's so difficult to answer how long it takes me to make an outfit. Often, in all seriousness, it takes the longest time for me to make a decision on what to sew and with what fabric. I can go back and forth on that for hours, {while I am doing other things of course}. I enjoy participating in online sewalongs that have parameters or themes; they help narrow down all those sewing possibilities. And again, the more tweaks or alterations I do to a pattern, the more time it takes. That can be a few hours, again allowing for time to just walk away. But, once the cutting has begun, I zip along fairly quickly. And! If I'm sewing a pattern that I've made before like this top, I can usually have it mostly finished in an afternoon, not counting hand sewing hems or buttons. It does really depend on what kind of work is involved. But there is no right or wrong length of time. I have found that now I am older, I enjoy the process as much as the finished garment.
