The Day the Circus Came to Town…

It was a perfect Vancouver weekend.   We  attended Cirque du Soleil’s Amaluna under the big top.  Absolute magic!  I highly recommend that you see Amaluna if the touring show comes to a city near you.  It is mysterious, seductive, and mesmerizing.  This weekend was gloriously sunny and yes, we get a little crazy for sun in this part of the world at this time of year.  I know, just wait and see how nutty we get by March.  It seemed that everyone was enjoying that great yellow orb in the sky, including our four legged beasts.  The above photos were taken at a local park replete with riding trails.  It was late afternoon and horses and their riders were returning to the parking lot, but do you think I could…

DIY: Rubber Boots Reno…

In an earlier post here, I shared that I was not a tall person.  Well, neither am I petite.  This is particularly evident when it comes to boots.  The majority of boots do not get along well with my calves.  The exception of course, are rubber boots.  I mean, how can a rubber boot not fit?   People all over the internet are practically swimming in their wellies. Fast forward to these superb rubber boots.  Thrifted.  A quick on/off and I was sold.  The problem was I didn’t attempt to tuck my pants into the boots.   Well, imagine my despair to find that I can barely get them on, never mind over my skinny jeans.  What to do?  I could gift them to Goodwill and chalk it up to experience… or I could alter…

plaid ain’t all bad…

{Jacket   Joe Fresh    Shirt  Esprit, thrifted   Jeans  DG2 by Diane Gilman, thrifted Pearl and Crystal Floating Necklace  Moi}   Can a LBJ, {little blue jacket} take plaid and denim beyond horses and hay bales?  I think so. The photo without the jacket is decidedly unpolished.  But with the addition of a sweet little blazer, I just might get invited to the party.  I admittedly have very little plaid in my colourful wardrobe, but was smitten with this cheeky shirt with the ruffles down the front.  By their very nature, I usually find that plaids are a little too structured for my unique personal  energy profile {see sidebar}, but I also say, never say never.   This shirt makes me feel bright and energized.   How do you feel…
