I MET A LOVELY BLOGGER: SUZANNE CARILLO STYLE FILES…
Tucked in the envelope is a handmade card.
Last week, I met with the ever lovely Suzanne of Suzanne Carillo Style Files. A fellow Canuck, Suzanne lives a creative life in Ontario. If you follow her blog, which you should, you know she’s beautiful, bright, witty hilarious, and a loving guardian of a pug named Zoe. In person? Better!!! Whaaatttt? Yep! She is warm, genuine, and she is gorgeous! Although taller than me, she’s very petite and I now totally understand how she rocks her unique personal style like nobody’s business. After those awkward first 30 seconds…honestly, I felt like I’d known her forever…we hit the country road. Our destination? Tanglebank Gardens. A combination garden center, gift shop, and bistro; it was here that we dallied away the afternoon. We snagged the last available outdoor table in the bistro and settled in for a long and leisurely lunch. One of the things I love about blogging is the sense of connection with like minded individuals. Spending time with Suzanne really brought that aspect home. We had so much to chat about, everything from blogging to photography, family to travel, art to food. When we were making our dessert choices, I mentioned that I had never had a macaroon. Given how popular macaroons are, both on Pinterest and on trendy It blogs, it seemed apropos to indulge…after the requisite photos, of course. After lunch we toured the garden and took photographs. And before we knew it, the clock struck five. Being the troopers we are, we headed to the local Value Village for a quick browse. I wasn’t about to let an opportunity of receiving Suzanne’s excellent style advice go for naught. She quickly, like blink-blink quickly, had me in a 100% silk Asian jacket that flattered my every curve. I ended up not buying it, but…I did buy a beautiful piece of silk sari fabric whose destiny is to become a fit and flare dress. It’s nearly impossible to see, but the centers of the flowers are mirrored! And! I also found a beaded bag of perfect proportions. It was a lovely day, with a lovely person. Thanks Suzanne, and many bisous! I can’t wait to meet with you again!
In these photos, Suzanne is wearing a vintage 1970’s maxi dress, accessorized with a fantastic necklace of her own creation, and Clarks sandals. I’m wearing my Midnight in Paris Dress with Stuart Weitzman sandals. Suzanne has a post up today also. Please pop over and say Hi!

Blogger meet-ups are the best! The two of you spending time together are evidence of that. You are both radiant and gorgeous in these photos. Now off to visit Suzanne.
Well I sure had fun! : )
Thanks for zipping us around in your fun car and making it seem like I'd known you for years. All I can say is…when can I expect you in Toronto? ; )

I thoroughly enjoyed both yours and Suzanne's posts today. I have 3 good blog friends and I value each of them so highly, despite never having met.
I love your new blog “look”! Everything about it is so subtly radiant. Your posts are always a surprise and packed with quality. I don't sew clothes but I experience that satisfaction through your tales and photos.
Wish I could have been there with you – I was too busy with my own blogger meet-ups! Looks like you had a gorgeous time – what a fab location, and you both look beautiful.
