Give Me Liberty…

Hello my friends…Yes, it’s been a while since my last post, but I assure you, I am still here.   My bloggy neglect has not been intentional…a few glorious days away in The Okanagan Valley, BC’s largest wine region, and some new creative projects, well underway but as yet unfinished, means…well dang…I’ve just been having too much fun, I guess.  And ahem, there was also that pesky between the seasons, seasonal thing going on.   My wardrobe was confused; and to be honest,  I ho-hummed my way through the last couple of weeks primarily wearing {yawn} denim capris, t-shirts, and an on again-off again cardigan sweater.

Here’s a few wine country photos.  The weather in general was a bit sketchy; a mash up of cloudy days peppered with a few rain showers, some wind, and a tickle of sunshine.  Unfortunately, there was enough rain to worry the growers, but hopefully the grape harvest is going smoothly.

Let’s see…what else has been going on?  Dum-dum-dee-dum!  My Mom holidayed overseas late August.  She had a brief stay in London, England and, while there, she went to Liberty of London and bought me a beautiful silk scarf.   It is, in a word, heavenly!   I haven’t had the courage to iron out the folds yet, nor the inclination to remove the Liberty tag, so it has yet to be worn outside of the house.  But soon, I promise!  Thanks ever so much Mom!

Okay, that’s all for now…I shall see you all soon!

Beautiful photos from your trip, Sue, such gorgeous colours.
Speaking of which, I am especially fond of red and purple, so the Liberty scarf ticks all the boxes for me too, it's beautiful. You would LOVE the Liberty shop, it's an amazing place to browse. xxxx

Keyword: Browse! You and I are both probably too thrifty to spend there, but looking would be a treat!

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! And lucky you! I've read about the Canadian wine country and that there are a lot of unique wines produced there. For some odd reason, they're not allowed to ship them across the border – at least not into our states that produce their own damn fine wine. But that landscape looks so beautiful, it would be worth the trip, I think.

You must start wearing that scarf! Now that you've published the picture with the bag and tag, it's time to wear that treasure and make it a part of your life!

Whaattt? That is a shame that Canada cannot export wines to Oregon. I'm curious if they can ship to any states. We certainly see a lot of California wines on the shelves here. Yup, you must venture up to the Okanagan for a visit sometime. It's fabulous country. And yes, I must wear the scarf!!

That looks like heaven – wine and sunshine! I'm so envious! How fabulous to have a Liberty scarf as a holiday souvenir, your Mum's a lady of great taste – it sure beats a straw donkey! x

Yup and Yup! Nothing like relaxing with a glass of wine, on the vineyard that produced it, in the sunshine! And I am lucky to not have been on the receiving end of a straw donkey…

Beautiful pics! I lived in Summerland for many years, I miss it. And the word 'Liberty' always makes me smile! thanks for your lovely post. 🙂

Jo-Anne, we must chat sometime. We are contemplating living in the Okanagan…it just seems so peaceful compared to Vancouver. Cold in the winter though, so we shall see. Summerland has a few of our favourite wineries.

That is the cutest White summer jacket you are sporting, is it Linen? Nice colour scheme, since we are now heading towards summer, this serves as great inspiration!

How cool to see some of the stunning local vistas that you guys enjoyed while in our corner of the province. It's been ages since I was last up Giant's Head. We should do a shoot of our own there one of these days.

Love your new Liberty scarf. Those rich hues are bursting with vibrancy, classic style, and beauty!

    ♥ Jessica
