Not a Party Dress…

This is not a party dress.
No New Years Eve Party for me tonight. You know the ones I mean. Balloons, party favours, loud music, cheap champagne, and buffet dinners. I confess to a disinterest in big New Year’s Eve parties. The mister and I will be celebrating the closing out of 2012 with a few dear friends. An early evening show {Les Miserables}, followed by dinner at Milestones. It may not be fancy, but it makes us happy. I faced a slight dilemma when it came to choosing my outfit. I did not want to be at a suburban movie theatre looking as though I had made a wrong turn and missed the red carpet. I did, however, want to have a little glam going on for dinner. This outfit is what I decided on. With an overcoat on, I will likely blend in with the family movie crowd. And at the restaurant, I can show off a little sparkle. I can see that my navy pants and blazer are not matching in this gorgeous sunshine, but in low light they seem to look fine. Please stay tuned for a pretty dress reveal in 2013. It’s a promise to you and to me.

Great solution and I love the sparkly bits, Sue. The length of the pants is very chic. Happy New Year ! Xo
I wouldn't have noticed the different navy shades if you hadn't mentioned it. And where did you get that sunshine?! Lucky you, and the view of the mountains just makes my heart sing! Our mountains down here are not big enough!
I really, really love your shoes best, but it's a great ensemble!
Thank you and a very Happy and Healthy New Year to you too!
Sue xo
Isn't that sun glorious? Surprisingly, it has started to snow here, but I don't expect it will last. Ah, the craziness of PNW weather. Mountain in background is Mount Baker in Washington.
My kind of New Year's Eve and also my kind of outfit…just enough sparkle to be fun! Enjoy the movie and the evening! happy new year….
What a pretty outfit. I love the sequins sparkling underneath–like stars in the night sky.
Happy New Year to you.
Sue that is a lovely outfit. I'm envious of your evening out. My stupid car has been in the shop since just before Christmas and my husband really hurt his back about the same time. Looks like a very quiet evening at home in front of the telly. I will have to celebrate later in the New Year. Hope you have a great time.
You have such good taste. Elegant but contemporary. I hope you have a very, very happy New Year.
P.S. If you added an RSS feed subscription link I'd follow you:). Friend Connect scares me these days…
The perfect outfit solution, I think! Chic and just a touch of sparkle for the holiday. And of course, the gorgeous curls! Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday and Happy New Year.
You sparkled in the movie theatre too. (I noticed as you were coming back up the stairs to your seat.) And the lights caught your bow necklace in the restaurant as well. Very pretty and I am glad you are having so much fun blogging. Happy New Year, Sue.
