Good Monday morning my friends.  I’m back…not quite up to my prime time form, but I couldn’t let  Visible Monday #100 pass by without participating. My mind is still a little lazy, hence the abbreviated post, but it feels so great to have been able to enjoy a lovely evening walk along the shore.  The tide was almost at it’s highest point, the sun was a golden glow, and the breeze was light.   I found a feather along the path, which tells me that I am on the right path.

Gingham on gingham.  Red on pink on pink on white  What better way to celebrate feeling well again.  The red jacket was a great find!  I love the buttons.  I wish I had a photo of my rear view to show off the double vent and plackets.  Well done Cold Water Creek!  The gingham capris are dark pink, and the shirt is two shades of pink on white.  My flats are perfect for walking…okay not so great for walking on the beach; the peek-a-boo toe was like a mini sand shovel.  Barefoot next time, I promise.

Morning, Sue. You look like you're feeling better – in fact, you look like you're in the pink! Or red. Or both! Lovely strong colors, and I'm so jealous that you get to walk on that beach all the time!

    Have a great week!

  • Adrienne Shubin June 10, 2013 at 7:35 am

What a great look! I read recently that the best way to pattern mix is to combine bit patterns with little, like you have done here. You are proof that really does work!
Glad to hear you're feeling better…you certainly look great!

  • Marla Robinson June 10, 2013 at 7:40 am

Love, love that! Great color and I love the jacket with those great capris.

  • S.D.C. June 10, 2013 at 8:03 am

I absolutely adore this outfit! Wonderfully done!

  • Ariane Lasalle June 10, 2013 at 8:13 am

Good that your are feeling better Sue
I have a little inconvenience too these days, i think maybe they are migraines or i'm coming down with something –
Anyhow, your gingham mix is a marvel, very nice to mix small and big gigham, it has more impact i think
The color is perfect for you, looking your lovely self as always

This is SO WONDERFUL!!! I smile every time I look at it. The pattern mix is perfect and I love how beautifully the accessories work with it.

  • sabine June 10, 2013 at 9:26 am

    Hello Sue,
Fine that you feel better. A walk in the evening sun works wonder, I see. You look so cute in the red outfit. I love the gingham mix and the gorgeous red flats. How nice they have a flower on the top.
Take good care of you my dear!

So glad you are feeling better, Sue. And you look great in red and pink and checks. The feather is for sure a good sign : > thanks for sharing with Visible Monday! xoxo

    Love the mix, so alive!

  • dan June 10, 2013 at 10:36 am

I am glad to read that you feel better now. Your pants and shirt seem to have a similar print in different size, and go so well together. Your purse is delightful!

  • ann wood June 10, 2013 at 10:58 am

Beautifully done Sue –love the color! I like the warm light in these photos especially the way it highlights your face in the head shot. You look lovely and spirited.

You look as though you are feeling better – that's good! I love the double gingham, it works so well, and the bright colours look pretty and cheerful. So do you! Why don't I have any gingham clothes? What a terrible wardrobe oversight, I must work on that! xxxx

  • Mrs C June 10, 2013 at 1:17 pm

This is a stunning print mix! You did it perfectly when it could be tricky 🙂

Awe, mixing gingham with gingham = brilliant! Only you could pull this one off so well. I'm wanting to do a gingham for a picnic post (can I refer back to this again) since I won't be sporting an outfit even close to this much bizazz. So sorry to hear you have been under the weather, hopefully this cheerful post and ensemble with be just the right medicine.

  • Ann, Heather and Sheila June 10, 2013 at 3:01 pm

What a fun look! Love the mixing of the two sizes of gingham checks and the colors are fantastic. Glad to hear that you're feeling better.

The hues of red and pink look great on you and I'm happy that they symbolized your return.
Red is a powerful color and in my family we believed in wearing red on Tuesdays and Fridays. Tuesdays as a recognition to the powerful Saint Michael and Fridays to bring us good luck for the weekend.

  • Mary Beth June 10, 2013 at 7:43 pm

This is such a fun and happy outfit! Love the bright red and gingham. I'm glad you got to enjoy a soothing walk along the beach. I'm looking forward to having more of those in the near future!

  • Melanie June 10, 2013 at 9:23 pm

I'm sorry I couldn't offer you my well wishes when you were at the peak of your cold. Happy to see you're on the mend! I love the photo of you with your leg up – so happy, so full of life. It helps that you're wearing such powerful colours.

  • Flo June 11, 2013 at 3:04 am

Cute outfit! So glad to hear that you are on the mend 🙂

  • Emalina June 11, 2013 at 6:19 am

There's nothing like gingham to spell Summer! I have some similar capri pants, yours suit you wonderfully. Get well soon.

  • Sacramento Amate June 11, 2013 at 9:34 am

I haven´t experimented with gingham yet, ummmmmmmmmmmmmm You are opening a new door for me, ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Sue… you look like you just emerged from the Sunset! Wow!
Glad you are getting over the awfuls … bad enough to be ill during the winter, but a downright shame to be ill in the Spring.
Looking happy and beautiful. Great clothes, better girl!

  • cindy the cottage chick June 11, 2013 at 4:53 pm

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Woot to the hoot! You look fab 🙂

  • Laurie June 12, 2013 at 10:23 am

My favourite dress when I was a wee girl was a yellow, gingham sundress. I miss that dress!

How is it that you have the ability to take gingham and make it grown-up, fun and city chic? Bravo Sue!

  • Carley Lee June 12, 2013 at 9:32 pm

  • Wendy June 13, 2013 at 7:50 am

I would have never thought to mix and match the different styles of gingham but this looks amazing!!!

  • Lisa June 13, 2013 at 10:28 pm

Fantastic outfit, Sue. Love the double checks.

  • Rachel June 14, 2013 at 3:21 am

I love your rather monochromatic look! Sometimes it's even more dramatic to just use different versions of the same color like you did rather than going for the rainbow look–I love it!

  • Imogen June 14, 2013 at 5:07 am

What a genius idea. This is the best look ever. Never would have thought of it but I adore it so much.

  • Bella Q June 14, 2013 at 9:09 am

Oh, that is so interesting about the significance of red for Tuesdays and Fridays. I have read about people wearing certain colours on certain days. I will look into that further.

Harmonious and radiant in gingham. I love the details on the jacket, your hair tousled by the wind and the whimsical feather. The perfect touch to an already brilliant combination.
