CORAL :: NAVY :: WHITE…

      {Sweater  No Label, thrifted   Dark Wash Skinnes  Laura Petites, thrifted Coral Sweater  Joe Fresh   Dotty Scarf, thrifted  Booties  Madrley, thrifted} Hey Peeps!  Remember Hollywood Squares and Circle Gets the Square?  My family watched the Tic Tac Toe game show regularly.  The original air date was 1966, so we very likely were watching it in black and white, at least during the earlier years.  Aside from classic film, most of us can not imagine watching a TV show or a movie in black and white; yet many of us live our lives wearing…black and white.  So, will this be the year that you add colour to your life? Coral, navy and white.  Fabulous, tropical colours!  And, although I appear to be living in the banana belt of Canada, it’s still way too…

    {Blazer  Talbots, thrifted Plaid Skirt  Separate Scene, thrifted Top  No label, thrifted Scarf Liberty of London Riding Boots  Ralph Lauren, via Winners} Hello, and bonjour my friends.  The little bistro tables in the photos above give a wee nod to a Parisian tableux.  But I assure you that we, the mister and I, are firmly rooted on Vancouver soil. Our recent bout of fog lifted Sunday and we stepped out for une cafe avec le sandwich.  The neighbourhood?  Vancouver’s Mid-Main Street district.  Several blocks of storefront treasures…high fashion, consignment, furnishings, coffee shops and eateries.   Le dejeuner, or lunch if you will, was ever so lovely. We sat and we chat.  At Coco Et Olive.  That, and some window shopping, brightened up a typically grey January day.   Hope you enjoy a…

RAINY DAY BRIGHTS

DYT Type One, Dressing Your Truth, Type 1

These days be rainy days on the west coast.  The ideal weather for red rain boots and a colourful brolly.  And also the perfect weather for whiling away a few hours at the movies…We saw The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug this afternoon.  It was entertaining, a little gory, and a lot unrealistic {Hey, it is a fantasy after all}.  We, the mister and I, enjoyed ourselves.       My outfit is all about colour, and pattern, and fun.  Red rain boots to keep my feet dry.  A colourful umbrella to keep my curls protected.  And lots of colour to brighten up a bleak January day.  I’ve done a little pattern mixing…stripes over gingham with a paisley scarf at my neck.  My nail polish, Zoya Louise in chocolately brown, and my dark wash…

  {Scarf – Christmas Gift and Hand Crocheted by my niece Alyse Dark Wash Skinnies  Laura Petites, thrifted Navy Blue Wool Coat   London Fog, thrifted Green Suede Shoes   Hush Puppies, thrifted Blue Hat  Toucan Collection, thrifted} Good Monday morning my dear friends. This, the final Monday in 2013,  seems the perfect moment to say a heartfelt thank you!  Thank you for your readership, your thoughtful comments, and your encouraging emails.   Throughout the year, you have showered me with the kindest of words, and I am ever so grateful for your friendship!     Curious about the creative tick-tock in my head?  The blue nail polish I’m wearing reminds me of blueberries.  That, and the hat.  The hat feels a bit like a giant blueberry on my head.  So, blue polish, blue hat, blueberries…and…
