I have to say I’m feeling worded out after my lengthy post on Saturday. Do I hear a collective sigh of relief? It has occurred to me that blogging is a little like standing on the podium accepting an award. With each post I publish, I get to ramble on, seemingly without end, about pretty much anything I want; as long as it’s about me. And just like watching the Oscars; you can tune me out as you please, switching channels to a more interesting blog with the click of a mouse. Today, I’m attempting to hold your…
Today’s tutorial is my little Valentine’s gift for you. Friendship bracelets require minimal supplies and they are easy to make. Once you get the hang of the overhand knot used, you will be able to make your bracelets out of all sorts of materials, in a rainbow of colours. In honor of Saint Valentine’s Day, I’m making a bracelet in scrumptious shades of reds, pinks, and cream. Some of you may remember me waxing poetic about summer camp in this post. Many happy hours were spent at the craft tables escaping the heat of the early afternoons. What I haven’t yet shared, is that I also spent a summer employed as a summer day camp leader. It’s funny when the steps you take are so completely familiar, yet the surroundings so dramatically changed, leaving one in a mild state of confusion. The office that I used to work in, with it’s large floor to ceiling windows, has been stripped bare and is now a martial arts studio. I admit,…
Today, I am sharing a tutorial on making your own fridge magnets. Sure, you can tack things on the fridge with your local insurance agent’s magnetized business cards, but this is a way more colourful, and fun way to do it. And, it’s easy. I am giving full credit and a big thank you to Megan of the wonderful blog, Feathers and Freckles. My DIY below, is a little different than hers; you can check out her version here: Animal Magnets DIY. Photo #1 Supplies required for this project are: One dollar store package of animals. Knife and Mallet. Mallet optional but recommended. Paint – I used my Kroma acrylic artists paints, but I suggest you use regular ‘ol craft paint for this little project. No need to get too spendy. Small paint brush for painting animals.…
